Crabbing in most of Puget Sound will be closing at sunset on Labor day.  The exceptions to this closure are area 7-north and area 7-south, or much of the San Juan Islands. However, anyone out catching crab after Sept. 5 will need to record those crab on their winter catch card.

Summer catch cards are due no later than October 1st to the WDFW. Remember, that everyone must return their cards regardless of whether they caught crab or not, and anyone who doesn’t send their card back will face a $10 fine.
