Clearwater creek is a small beautiful small mountain stream that runs through large boulders that create nice pools of water. Early in the summer the creek runs pretty high so fishing isn’t very good. As the summer progresses and the melt finishes there can be some nice calm pools to fish. The fish are pretty small for the most part. This is a nice spot for boulder climbing, fishing and sight seeing.

To get to Clearwater creek turn on Mosquito lake Rd. from Highway 542 (Mt. Baker hwy) and drive down Mosquito lake rd. After a few minutes you will cross a small bridge and come to a large gravel pit on the left. There is a road (Anacortes Veneer logging rd) that goes above the gravel pit and about 4 miles up there is a bridge that crosses Clearwater Creek. We just parked at the bridge and hiked downstream to the mouth at the Middle Fork Nooksack river.
