The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association, the Northwest Straits Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities Host 2nd Annual South Fork Nooksack River Canoe Clean Up on September 10th, 2011
Join community volunteers and these local nonprofit groups on Saturday September 10th from 9am – 2pm as we paddle down the South Fork of the Nooksack River in an effort to remove litter from the riverbanks. Some canoes and life jackets will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring their own canoes to join the clean up effort. Canoes will launch at the Acme Bridge and paddle to the Van Zandt Bridge. Volunteers on land are also needed to help launch boats, staff safety stations along the river, and unload collected trash. Refreshments and garbage collecting materials will be provided. Registration for this event is required.
For more information or to register to volunteer at this event visit www.n-sea.org or call 360-715-0283.
