Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) fish managers will release “early winter” hatchery steelhead into inland lakes again this year, now that federal fisheries officials have decided to conduct a full-scale environmental impact analysis of all Puget Sound hatchery steelhead programs.
This follows the same action last year, which put a bunch of 10+ inch steelhead into Fazon lake, among other lakes in place of releasing those steelhead into the Nooksack river. It was reported that fishing for them has been good this year at Fazon.
