Effective today, Baker Lake is now open of Sockeye fishing. Apparently, the run is expected to be larger than normal so WDFW announced they would open the lake early to to sockeye fishing. The daily limit remains at 5 fish, greater than 18 inches. All other rules and regulations remain in place. We highly recommend you check them out before your trip, as other rules apply to trout fishing on the lake.

As of today 6,694 sockeye have been trapped and transferred to the lake. Here is a link to Baker Sockeye counts http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/salmon/sockeye/baker_river.html
